For the second year running, South East Dubs Fest was held on Sunday 6th February at Bundoora Park in Melbourne, although for this year the dubs scored a bit more shade and grass further up the hill, making things a lot more comfortable. The event is the brain child of Dominic D’acri and is a pure watercooled VAG show, with a laid back attitude. The focus of the show is simply to gather the VW Watercooled community to chill and chat, and essentially the informal show'n'shine carries this theme along with trophies awarded by popular public choice rather than judging on particular criteria. However, with the funky SEDF personalised number plates on offer for each category, along with a host of additional donated prizes, most owners put a decent effort into scrubbing their rides. Deck chairs aside, typical Melbourne weather tested even the hardiest Melbourne soul with the show receiving all 4 seasons in one morning, but in between down pours it was still possible to check out plenty of VW eye candy! Mk1 Golfs through to the latest Audi TTs rolled onto the grass, with some participants making the long trip from interstate, including Matthew White in his immaculate Scirocco from Sydney.

VW Magazine Australia

VWMA is an Australian owned and published enthusiasts magazine serving both the aircooled and watercooled Volkswagen scene nationally. Published quarterly (Feb, May, Aug, Nov), the magazine is available through newsagents Australia wide or via subscription, and covers every aspect of the hobby, from the very early models through to the latest innovations, motorsport, offroad, kit, custom, books, toys and shows. If it doesn't appear in VWMA then it isn't VW related.

Now in its seventh year, VWMA also hosts two drag racing weekends, sponsors a variety of VW shows, and supports events across the country. Printed and distributed by Australian companies, VWMA is also fortunate to have access to a talented pool of home based VW photojournalists and print/web technicians, who work with VWMA to produce quality VW entertainment each issue. And in 2011, the magazine's website has evolved to encompass the online and portable information revolution with the inclusion of additional media content to enrich the printed reading experience.
