VW Warwick 2026 General Information

Welcome to VW Warwick, an all VW drag racing weekend. This is the 20th anniversary year for Warwick, and the event has grown into Australia's premier VW motorsport weekend.

The weekend programme for Warwick starts this year with a Dyno session at the track on Friday evening. Diesel Tune are bringing along their mobile dyno for a number of invited and guest drag cars to run some figures on the rollers. All are welcome to come along and watch the action.

This year, the event has a new format, with all practice, qualifying and racing occurring on the Saturday. Competition rounds will be held under lights on Saturday evening. Sunday’s programme consists of trophy presentation, show’n’shine and swap meet.

Scrutineering from 9am-12noon. Qualifying 1-4pm. A short two hour break will then occur before competition starts at 7pm under lights.

VW Warwick is an 1/8th mile track, a perfect introduction for the novice, yet long enough to entice the professionals to go hard. If you have never tried drag racing, but have always harbored a desire to give it a try, these all VW race meets provide a non-threatening environment, where you can learn at your own pace and collect some useful tips from the experienced racers. Classes cover Aircooled, Watercooled, VW Bodied Other Engine, VW Specials (ie Buggies) and Trikes.

This year there will be two finals for the Top VW Shootout, a final for normally aspirated cars and one for forced induction. Cut-off times for the two brackets will be decided as per normal, and if the past years are anything to go by, both finals should field the full 8 cars each. With a number of interstate competitors planning to attend the weekend the final result will be quite close.

VW Magazine Australia

VWMA is an Australian owned and published enthusiasts magazine serving both the aircooled and watercooled Volkswagen scene nationally. Published quarterly (Feb, May, Aug, Nov), the magazine is available through newsagents Australia wide or via subscription, and covers every aspect of the hobby, from the very early models through to the latest innovations, motorsport, offroad, kit, custom, books, toys and shows. If it doesn't appear in VWMA then it isn't VW related.

Now in its seventh year, VWMA also hosts two drag racing weekends, sponsors a variety of VW shows, and supports events across the country. Printed and distributed by Australian companies, VWMA is also fortunate to have access to a talented pool of home based VW photojournalists and print/web technicians, who work with VWMA to produce quality VW entertainment each issue.
